If you need any proof that the iPhone 5 is one of the most highly sought after smart phones on the planet then go to eBay.com, do a search for “Pre Order iPhone5” and take a look at what its selling for.  I have seen the “factory unlocked” 64GB version sell for upwards of $2000.00.

It is mind boggling that people are paying that much for a device that will most likely be available to anybody with a few weeks or less.  Most major carries will have the phone available in their stores on September 21st.  A call to Verizon verified the iPhone 5 would be on shelves at 8a.m. on September 21st.

It is a beautiful phone with beautiful specifications. The peeps over at Apple, Inc. have indeed provided substantial upgrades to their newest flagship device.  The unit has a much sleeker design touting a 4″ diagonal Retina display, A6 processor, 4G LTE capabilities and is running the new iOS 6.

But $2000 for a phone?…That’s just wild!  Typically iPhone 5s are going for $199 (16GB), $299 (32GB) & $399 (64GB) with new or renewed contracts. Regular retail is $649.99, $749.99 & $849.99 respectfully.  I wonder if the marketing department is wondering if they are under pricing their gear?

Whoud you be willing to spend over double the retail price?  Leave a comment and let me know what you think?
